John Stuhlmiller has 39 years of public policy experience across both the public and private sectors, with a focus on land use, natural resources, water, and environmental issues. He currently serves as the Executive Director of the Washington State Water Resources Association (WSWRA) and works as a consultant and advocate. Previously, John was the Chief Executive Officer and lead lobbyist for the Washington Farm Bureau for nearly 20 years, and before that, he served for two decades as legislative staff to the Washington State Senate, specializing in public policy, legislation crafting, and coalition building. John holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Pacific Lutheran University and a Master of Public Administration from The Evergreen State College. Raised on a dryland wheat farm in Lincoln County, Washington, John now resides in rural Thurston County with his wife, Allyson. Together, they have raised 11 children, with three still at home.
