Mike Laplant has been raising hay and alfalfa within the Quincy Columbia Basin Irrigation District since 1976. He and his wife, Carol, have three adult children and six grandchildren. Mike has held numerous leadership roles, including serving as President of the Washington State Farm Bureau from 2011 to 2021, and on the Board of Directors for the American Farm Bureau from 2014 to 2019. He has also been a Director of the Quincy Columbia Basin Irrigation District since 1997 and a trustee of the Columbia Basin Development League since 1998. In addition, Mike has been a Grant County Fire District 15 Commissioner since 1988 and completed his term as WSWRA President in 2023.
