Nathan Draper has served as the District Manager and Secretary/Treasurer of the Selah-Moxee Irrigation District (SMID) since 2012. In his role, he oversees the district’s operations and maintenance, as well as strategic planning. Nathan has led key initiatives such as the SMID Water Bank and the Enhanced Water Conservation Program, which has conserved over 700 acre-feet of water. Under his leadership, the district’s service area has expanded by 2,000 acres. He holds a certificate in Construction Management from Boise State University and an Associate of Science in Agricultural Business Management from Treasure Valley Community College. Nathan is currently Vice President of the Yakima Basin Joint Board and the Washington State Water Resources Association. Outside of work, he volunteers for various organizations and enjoys horseback riding, hunting, and gardening.
